Q: Who is this school/college for?
It is for learners who are too old for their grade in mainstream schools. For those learners who dropped out/ opted out of school but want to reaccess an educational institution to complete their basic education, up to Grade 9 and possibly continue with Grade 10-12.
Q: How do I apply?
Applications for the new year starts mid October with an OPEN DAY. All information will be shared then, including: forms, required documentation and interview process will be explained.
Q: What is the application process?
Completed application forms, last school report, any additional documentation, birth certificate/ ID, placement test and interview with the principal is required.
Q: What are the costs to attend the college?
The Cape Youth Care Foundation offers a part scholarship to all learners who meet the requirements. We require parents/guardians to make a contribution of 10% of total cost. Currently for 2016 that is R1800 p/a.
Q: Is the school/ college for learners who have learning barriers?
No, unfortunately we do not cater for learners with special educational needs.
Q: Do you offer skills training?
No. The curriculum is a mainstream AET curriculum.

- Arts and Culture
Q: Does the school have a uniform?
Yes we have a full summer and winter uniform.

Monday – Friday starting time 08h30
Monday to Thursday finishes at 13h30
Fridays finish at 12h50

B.E.S.T College is a registered INDEPENDENT SCHOOL with the Western Cape Education Department.

We have a NEEDS list. Any donations are welcome: skills, time, repairs and equipment that we might need is most welcome.
Q: Can anyone from the community assist?
They are most welcome to assist with the preparation of sandwiches. The reading programme requires volunteers to help learners who struggle to read.
Q: Is the college/ school tax exempted?
Can the college supply us with a Section 18 certificate?
